Starting Jan. 1, 2008 new film incentives made Wisconsin one of the most "film friendly" states in the union by offering tax credits of up to 25 percent for qualifying productions. The Milwaukee Film Office - How We Can Help You
The Milwaukee Film Office is dedicated to helping you choose Greater Milwaukee as a location for your film and video crews to shoot films, videos, television, commercials, industrial films, and more.
Milwaukee has many diverse on-site film and video location possibilities. Our city's genuine hospitality, simple permit procedures, affordable and accessible location, and ample production resources make it an ideal location for film and video production.
- The Milwaukee Film Office works directly with Film Wisconsin, the statewide film industry organization, on projects for the Milwaukee area.
- When a producer or director is interested in filming in Milwaukee - Milwaukee Film Office staff assists by suggesting locations, resources, transportation and accommodations.
- Once a production is slated to film here - the Milwaukee Film Office directs the team to the Permit Office if needed and often acts as a liaison to help the team accomplish their goals.
- The Milwaukee Film Office acts as a resource for filmmakers coming to Milwaukee by helping them to locate and use local production assistance from area experts.

Permits
Permits are not needed to shoot in Milwaukee, except when closing streets and/or sidewalks or excess parking issues. Even then, the process of obtaining a permit is relatively simple and the Film Office can assist you in obtaining these.
