Along with first-class facilities, our scenic lakefront is the perfect backdrop for marathons, triathlons and beach volleyball tournaments. Milwaukee hosted the 2013, 2014, and 2015 USA Triathlon Championships, bringing thousands of athletes and spectators to the lakefront and mobilizing a force of more than 800 volunteers. The 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament 2nd and 3rd rounds saw nearly 15,000 local and visiting attendees each day at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. These events built on the success of the 2012 YMCA National Gymnastics Championships, when 4,000 attendees filled the impressive Wisconsin Center and neighboring UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. In addition, the PGA Championship returned to Whistling Straits for the third time in 2015.

Milwaukee has also been the host of the U.S. Speed Skating Olympic World Cup Trials, North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance Softball World Series, BIG EAST Women’s Volleyball Championships, Milwaukee IndyFest, USGA Amateur Championship, multiple USA Volleyball regional and national tournaments, the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, the USA Table Tennis U.S. Open Championships and numerous USA Fencing events, including the North American Cup.
