Milwaukee is a city comprised of many diverse cultures, which we celebrate and pay homage to in several ways. We have festivals, restaurants, galleries, dance troupes and theaters that showcase every ethnic culture that calls the city home. Milwaukee is home to African World Festival, Mexican Fiesta, Indian Summer and PrideFest. All of these festivals are located on the shores of Lake Michigan on the beautiful Henry Maier Festival Grounds, which also hosts the world's largest music festival, Summerfest.
Milwaukee is a minority majority city with more than half of its residents identifying themselves as African American or Hispanic in the 2010 census.
VISIT Milwaukee has recognized the value of the multicultural tourism market for more than 20 years by establishing a Multicultural Advisory Committee. The committee's charge is to assist in identifying multicultural conventions and conferences and encouraging them to bring their business to Milwaukee.
We know that once we get you to experience Milwaukee, you will want to have your group experience it too. Not only do we have wonderful multicultural offerings, but we have one of the most beautiful and celebrated art museums in the world, the Santiago Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum. We also have one of the top zoos in the country, the Milwaukee County Zoo, as well as many other wonderful cultural offerings.
We offer plenty of convention center space, premier hotels, and dining and entertainment options. Our location on the shores of Lake Michigan, as well as our reputation for Midwestern hospitality, will make your conference or convention an enjoyable experience.
Some of the groups the city has hosted over the years have included the NAACP, the National Council of La Raza, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, National Indian Education Association and Gospel Music Workshop of America. Organizers of the conventions have expressed their enthusiasm for having chosen Milwaukee for their national meeting and have stated that their experience was one of the best in years.
Come and experience what Milwaukee has to offer, you won't be disappointed!
