United Airlines Hemispheres Magazine to Feature Milwaukee

08/04/2008

Hemispheres, United Airlines' award-winning in-flight magazine, has selected Milwaukee as one of four cities to be featured in the magazine's 2008 Insight series. The Insight: Milwaukee feature will incorporate 36 pages of editorial content combining traditional travel-related information with a comprehensive look at the economic influencers and industry sectors that shape the business landscapes and lifestyles in the region. Insight: Milwaukee will be featured on all United and United Express flights for the month of October.

"This is an unprecedented opportunity to showcase the greater Milwaukee region to an international audience of more than six million travelers," said Doug Neilson, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. "This in-depth look at our area will highlight the quality of life we enjoy here, and will enhance our efforts to increase awareness of the many reasons why Milwaukee is among the Midwest's best places to live, work, play and visit."

Hemispheres will launch its efforts in the Milwaukee region with a media reception on August 5, 2008. The magazine's editorial and photography process will continue through the month of August.

Insight: Milwaukee will examine in depth the people, places, industry and history of Milwaukee and surrounding areas and will showcase economic development and emerging industries, real estate, educational and healthcare resources, tourism and convention opportunities, dining, accommodations, recreation, and quality of life advantages. The Insight: Milwaukee editors, writers and photographers will work closely with the local community and area leaders to generate story ideas and photographs.

Hemispheres is seen monthly by more than six million of the world's elite business and leisure passengers traveling to over 210 destinations in 26 countries.
