Milwaukee’s Hot Spots Bring City to Top of the List(s)
Zagat, Frommer’s, Food & Wine and Sherman’s Travel Rank Milwaukee on Top
MILWAUKEE – Jan. 19, 2012– Word on Milwaukee’s hot spots for dining, drinking and having fun recently put the city at the top of several prestigious lists by Zagat, Food & Wine Magazine, Frommer’s and Sherman’s Travel.
Zagat: America’s Top Restaurants 2012, a worldwide restaurant guide created from user-generated ratings and reviews, listed Milwaukee restaurants Roots, Sanford and Eddie Martini’s among the 30 best restaurants in the country. Milwaukee was one of only three cities in the country with the distinction of having three restaurants on this list. Bartolotta's Lake Park Bistro and Ristorante Bartolotta rounded out the list of Milwaukee’s top five restaurants.
The very thing that “made Milwaukee famous” landed Milwaukee on Frommer's "World's Best Cities for Beer" list, where the average price of a brew on tap is only $3. Milwaukee is listed among infamous beer cities such as Dublin, Munich, Prague andMelbourne. Frommer’s, which offers a travel guide book series and website, additionally highlights the Milwaukee Ale House as a top spot to enjoy one of Milwaukee’s many local brews. Cheers!
Distil, a bar on bustling Milwaukee Street, also received a nod as one of the "50 Best Bars in America"on Food & Wine Magazine’s list. Distil serves up local brews, craft cocktails and an impressive list of over120 bourbons and ryes. Beyond beer and spirits, Distil features a menu of fine cheeses, wine, cured and dry-aged meats.
Sherman’s Travel, a leading publisher of top travel deals and vacation destination advice, included Milwaukee on their list of “Top 5 Family Vacations for 2012” among London, Bulgaria, Montana and New Zealand. Milwaukee’s endless lineup of summer festivals, abundant attractions and even a family-friendly airport were cited as highlights that make Milwaukee a must for families.
