Milwaukee Receives Best-In-Show Special Mention

09/08/2008

VISIT Milwaukee received the ASAE Best in Show Special Mention for its booth at the 2008 American Society of Association Executives' (ASAE) Association Solution Marketplace.  This honor, presented each year at ASAE's Annual Meeting & Exposition, is awarded based on booth look and theme as well as quality of staff interaction with visitors.

"To commemorate the opening of the company's museum in Milwaukee earlier this summer, as well as to share its 105th anniversary celebration with the crowd in San Diego, we went with a Harley-Davidson block party theme in our booth," said Mia Brondyke, director of sales for VISIT Milwaukee. "Harley is such an integral part of the city's history and image, we wanted to bring the excitement of these events to this year's ASAE attendees-Milwaukee style. Based on the response to our booth, we were very successful."

To put their booth on attendees' must-see list, VISIT Milwaukee's sales team sent out pre-event mailings announcing the festivities. Visitors were invited to "get inked" with temporary tattoos in Harley's famous bar and shield design as well as to have their picture taken astride one of the famous machines. Those arriving in the booth with an RFP and booking a piece business with a minimum of 2,000 room nights were entered into a drawing to win a Harley-Davidson Sportster. The drawing will take place next year in Toronto.

Over 500 attendees visited the booth. This is VISIT Milwaukee's first time to receive the Best in Show Special Mention award.
