A Diverse City
The histories and traditions that make up Milwaukee create a fabric that wraps the city in a variety of customs, beliefs and lifestyles. The merging of these cultures is reflected throughout the city—from the Dr Martin Luther King Drive area to Brady Street to Walker's Point. Our diversity is celebrated with a procession of 11 ethnic festivals throughout the year, including Bastille Days, Arab World Fest, Irish Fest, Indian Summer and our Juneteenth Day Celebration. The Ko-Thi Dance Company, Latino Arts, Inc. and the African American Children's Theater are just a few of the permanent institutions that embrace and share the multicultural arts of our city.
VISIT Milwaukee seeks out ways to enhance the city's image as an inclusive and welcoming destination with a strong commitment to multicultural development. By encouraging the expansion of the diverse hospitality workforce, and championing diversity within VISIT Milwaukee, it's suppliers and the industry, we're already fostering community growth and unity.
