Plants to Knock Your Stalks Off

Blog

Milwaukee can claim plant and floral prowess thanks to renowned attractions like the Boerner Botanical Gardens and the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory, the latter of which has a plant store, too.

Grow your roots in Milwaukee or take some with you when you leave by stopping at Maranta Plant Shop. Started as an online and pop-up store, Maranta now blooms in the Bronzeville neighborhood as Milwaukee’s first Black-owned plant shop. Co-owners Michelle Alfaro and Mag Rodriguez offer a range of plants that include everything from common house plants to exotic varieties like philodendron Weeks red hybrid, Alocasia black velvet, and more.

Make a floral tour de Milwaukee by checking out the foliage at a few more stops. Other local favorites include MOD GEN and Clover MKE. For those on the hunt for beautiful floral blooms, try the artful arrangements from Flowers for Dreams or Belle Fiori on the city's east side.
