Celebrate Day of the Dead in Milwaukee
Milwaukee has a vibrant Mexican community, and that rich culture is on remarkable display Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 during Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). With origins in Mexico, the holiday encourages remembrance and celebration of loved ones who have passed away. Dia de los Muertos observances feature ornate altars with ofrendas (offerings) of the dearly departed’s favorite food and drink, gifts, photographs, and traditional yellow marigold flowers.
