Find your love of fair this summer at the Wisconsin State Fair! Known by some as the “best 11 days of summer,” the fair has something for everyone! Whether you’re unleashing your inner foody with a unique culinary creation or squealing at the pig races, there’s so much to do that you may need more than one day to see it all. Not sure where to start? We’ve created a list of 11 essential Wisconsin State Fair experiences to make your make your day ‘wonderfair.”

  1. Eat an Original Cream Puff
A wonderfully messy treat, these fluffy pastries are an absolute State Fair must. You may have to line up to get one of these delectable delights, but they’re worth it!
 
  1. Check out blue ribbon winners
It’s the Wisconsin State Fair after all! See all the award-winning, art, pies, pickles, vegetables, home brews, and more throughout the grounds. Keep your eye out for the most incredible products Wisconsin has to offer.
 
  1. See pigs fly for Oreos
The racing pigs at the fair are an instant favorite of any visitor, these little pigs fly through the course, fast and furious, as they compete for the ultimate prize: an Oreo. With races taking place seven times daily, there’s plenty of chances to stop by and see Big Rob, Little Louie, Tito, and Billy Bob go head-to-head.
 
  1. Cruise down the Giant Slide
Grab your family or friends and unleash your inner child at this enormous yellow slide. Make your way to the top of this 50-year-old icon--overlooking the entirety of the State Fair grounds--before screaming down the 200 ft. of smooth metal slope on a burlap sack.
 
  1. Listen to the stars at the Wisconsin State Fair Main Stage
Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! Enjoy a concert hosted, in part, on the Milwaukee Mile racetrack. Laugh, sing-along and have the time of your life with this year’s headliners like Wisconsin comedian Charlie Berens, Nelly, and Brett Young. Get your tickets today!
 
  1. Peruse the Wisconsin Products Pavilion
Looking to load up on local products? The Wisconsin Products Pavilion has you covered! Make your way through the space to learn about all our state has to offer while discovering treats from kettle corn to herbal tea.
 
  1. Eat something on a stick
The State Fair is home to unique culinary creations from oddities like the Gummy Bear Brat to Sporkies Finalists like this year’s winner, the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles Poutine. However, nothing is more classically State Fair than finding a tasty morsel on a stick.
 
  1. Take a break at Exploratory Park.
Relax and stay a while at the Exploratory Park inside the grounds. A great place to catch your breath, the wooded oasis offers visitors a chance to learn about the natural world of Wisconsin. Enjoy the Paradise Pond, Steven’s Springs, oversized chess, and so much more within this beautifully maintained space.
 
  1. Take a sip of pure Wisconsin at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Foundation Milk House.
Chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and root beer? You better believe it! The Milk House offers unusual milk flavors sure to delight your taste buds and blow your mind!
 
  1.  Piglets, calves, and Billy goats oh my!
Who can skip the fair without stopping to see the adorable baby animals throughout the fair grounds? Stop by the barns around the grounds to get up-close and personal with your favorite farm animals including cows, horses, goats, and so many more.
 
  1.  Cap off the day with a SkyGlider ride.

Take to the skies and see the whole park from the elevated vantage point. Reminisce about all the places you’ve seen throughout the day and enjoy the relaxing ride around the grounds.
