Milwaukee is excited to welcome the 2020 Democractic National Convention to our world-class city July 13-16, 2020. Home to a thriving arts, entertainment, and dining scene; booming business and architectural development; and diverse, passionate locals, Milwaukee is a choice destination for business and leisure travelers alike. The DNC will bring 50,000 attendees to Milwaukee to experience all our totally random, totally wonderful city has to offer - we welcome you to join in the fun and excitement!

What to expect

Milwaukee is no stranger to hosting citywide events and celebrations, but here are a few tips if you're planning to travel to the area during the DNC.

  • Make your travel plans early! The convention will welcome 50,000 visitors to Milwaukee, so the city will be bustling.
  • Over 1,500 events will be planned throughout the region in just 4 days. Call ahead to attractions and restaurants to confirm public hours.
  • Over 15,000 hotel rooms will be used in the Greater Milwaukee area, with many more needed regionally, from Kohler to Madison to Lake Geneva. You may need to consider alternative housing options during your stay.
  • Think creatively about downtown transportation - Milwaukee's streetcar The Hop or bike share program are easy, convenient ways to get around!
