Wisconsin Center

Meeting planners looking to reduce the carbon footprint of their events will find an environmentally conscious partner in the Wisconsin Center. Greening initiatives over the last few years include a new single streaming recycling system, energy and water conservation, and waste reduction.

Milwaukee’s Wisconsin Center has as one of the top second-tier city convention centers in “highly walkable places” according to PCMA CONVENE magazine. The Wisconsin Center is located near “a pedestrian-friendly RiverWalk, built along the Milwaukee River, [that] links downtown with the historic Third Ward neighborhood, home to numerous art galleries and restaurants.”

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino

Through numerous green initiatives, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino has become one of the premier sustainable developments in Milwaukee. In May 2015, the 19-story, 381-room hotel with 55,000 sq. ft. of meeting space became the first casino hotel in Wisconsin to attain the prestigious LEED® Gold certification. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, ranks buildings on how well they save energy and water, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve indoor environmental quality.

One of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s most visible and impactful contributions in Milwaukee over the last several years has been the construction of a biodigester, located just west of the casino property. The biodigester converts large amounts of food waste to energy – including energy used to heat the casino’s hotel property.
