Overview

A classic, cozy Wisconsin corner bar that makes its own beer! We believe beer should be straightforward and enjoyable by craft beer fans and macro beer drinkers alike.

We pull from historical brewing techniques and recopies to create balanced, easy drinking beers rather than focusing on special ingredients and intense flavors. Because we make our beer one barrel at a time, there's always something new on tap.

By blending Milwaukee's "family tap" history, British pub culture, and Up North hospitality, Layman Brewing looks to tradition to make tasty beer in the most traditional of places: your corner bar!

Things You'll Find:

  1. Our bar top dates back to the '40s. We have regulars who remember sitting at it with their grandparents, and who can point out "their" spots where there elbows rubbed the pattern off the Formica over more than half a century.
  2. We have a haunted radio.
  3. The building has been a tavern since it was built in the late 1800s. There was almost certainly a brothel upstairs during prohibition.
