The new Tavern at Turner Hall has breathed some rock n’ roll life and energy into the historic full service restaurant and palm garden on Turner Hall’s first floor. A large welcoming bar, several different dining areas, and a huge gathering space—the Tavern is littered with memorabilia, pool tables, dart boards, iconic wreckage of Milwaukee’s past. It’s a haven for all walks of life from punks to jocks and everyone in between.
Settled right next the shiny new glass and steel of the Bucks Entertainment Block and the Fiserv Forum, the 140 year old remodeled bar and restaurant takes elements from Milwaukee’s live music history and splashes them amongst the classic German architecture and the historic Turner murals to create a uniquely tri-polar atmosphere. The collections of “dead venue” hand-bills, vintage Milwaukee signage, and other oddities continue to grow organically and help create the chaotic backdrop befitting of a bar that lives directly below one of Milwaukee’s true gems - and greatest variety of programming - the Turner Hall Ballroom.
The Tavern features a full menu of salads, burgers, apps and entrees and a redux of the city’s most famous Friday Fish Fry as well as Event Day menus for those rushing to the show or the game.
The atmospheric Palm Room mixes lounging with traditional bar games and televised entertainment along with flexible setups for private parties, special events and bookings. A full bar with local-friendly pricing and daily specials round out the offerings of Milwaukee’s best new bar.
Tavern is open daily and at least two hours before any area event. Reservations are accepted for large parties and food can be ordered for shows in the ballroom.
