Kevin Freddes

Table Games Director
It’s my first time playing the tables at Potawatomi, what do I need to know?
First, we have plenty for everyone, from blackjack to baccarat and everything in between. If you’re not familiar with a game, it’s OK at most tables to ask questions. Our dealers are instructed to help our guests out. They’re very good about it. If you have a question, please don’t hesitate to ask. We also have instructional cards available in our retail shop and videos posted on our website for first-time visitors. Take advantage of those resources.

What’s your favorite game?
It really depends on the mood. Baccarat is great because of the action. There’s lots of it, but at the same time it’s a really simple game. Blackjack is a little more involved. Educating yourself in blackjack strategy is helpful. Craps is great if you’re looking for something with a little built-in camaraderie. It’s a very social game.

Bingo Assistant Director
What should first-time bingo players know?
We highly recommend you purchase an electronic machine as opposed to paper. It can keep track of multiple sheets with the push of a button. This is high-stakes bingo. Prizes can range from a couple hundred dollars and up. Our program is divided into games included with your program buy and specials, which are purchased separately. Keep talking to a minimum, but use your outside voice when you win. We want to be able to hear you yell “BINGO”!

What’s the best time to play?
It depends on what you’re looking for. For a session that’s on the quiet side, visit us for a breakfast session (9:30 a.m.) or a matinee (1 p.m.). For bigger jackpots, evening sessions are your best bet. For something a little more upbeat and fun, our Night Owl sessions (11 p.m.) are a blast. On the last Saturday of the month, we host a Glow Bingo session (9:30 p.m.) with lots of music, dancing, and lights. It’s truly a party atmosphere.

Slots Director
What’s new in slots?
The technology in slots is constantly evolving. These aren’t the one-armed bandits of the past. The next big thing in slots is 4D technology. 4D games integrate 3D visuals, but the guest can reach out and interact with the game without touching the machine. We hope to soon have a few of these games on our floor.

What’s the best time to play the slots at Potawatomi?
It depends on the type of experience you’re looking to have. If you come earlier in the morning, it’s quieter without the volume of clientele. You’ll have your choice of machines. If you want to be part of the social atmosphere, come on in at 9 or 10 p.m. on a Friday.

What’s your favorite machine?
For me personally, I like video poker. It’s a game of skill and I feel more in control of the outcome.
