  7. Original safes, located in the hotel's basement, are currently used as the hotel's wine vault!
  8. In 2005 the hotel completed a $15 million renovation.

  10. The hotel is built on the land that once was the site of a mansion owned by Amos Appleton Lawrence Smith, who was the attorney to Captain Frederick Pabst. The Pabst mansion still stands today just steps East of the hotel on Wisconsin Avenue.
  11. When the hotel was built Wisconsin Avenue was called "Grand Avenue".
  12. The hotel's original entrance was on 23rd street.
  13. There are original Art Deco design elements and fixtures throughout the hotel.
