48 Hours with Influencers Bobo & Chichi

Milwaukee didn’t earn the Brew City name overnight. It’s a story generations in the making, and Megan and Scott Indoe of @BoboandChichi came ready to taste their way through it. Their Milwaukee getaway took them through the historic homes and brewing grounds that made Milwaukee known for beer to today's neighborhood taprooms and craft breweries.

Follow their itinerary, find a few new favorites and use their trip as inspiration to create your own adventure along the Brew City Trail presented by Miller High Life.

Day 1: Start With Milwaukee’s Brewing Roots

Lunch and a Local Brew

Kick off your Milwaukee getaway with lunch and a beer at MobCraft Beer in Walker’s Point. Known for its crowdsourced approach to brewing, MobCraft pairs its rotating beer lineup with pizza, sandwiches, pretzels and other taproom favorites.

Step Inside the World of a Beer Baron

Next, head to the Pabst Mansion, the former home of Captain Frederick Pabst and his wife, Maria. Completed in 1892, the mansion offers a look at the family behind one of the biggest names in Milwaukee brewing through its elaborate Gilded Age interiors, craftsmanship and art collection.

Raise a Glass Along Lake Michigan

Trade brewery history for lake views at South Shore Terrace Kitchen & Beer Garden. Grab a beer and find a spot overlooking Lake Michigan for a quintessential Milwaukee beer garden experience.

Dinner at a Milwaukee Classic

Finish the evening at Five O’Clock Steakhouse, a longtime Milwaukee supper club-style steakhouse known for steaks, classic cocktails and its old-school atmosphere. A must-order is an Old Fashioned the Milwaukee way with a side of pull tabs.

A visitor holding a beer follows a tour group through the historic Miller Brewery caves in Milwaukee, beneath arched brick ceilings and hanging lanterns.

Day 2: Go Behind the Beer

Explore the Historic Pabst Brewery

Start your morning at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery. Located within the former Pabst Brewery complex, it’s an opportunity to see another side of the Pabst story while exploring the historic architecture that remains part of Milwaukee today. Bonus feature: they've turned the Historic Pabst Brewery into a coffee shop.

Tour Miller Brewing Company

Then, experience more than 165 years of brewing history at Miller Brewing Company. Their brewery tour takes you through historic production spaces and their underground Miller Caves while sharing the story of one of the brands that helped cement Milwaukee’s Brew City reputation.

See Another Side of Milwaukee History

Beer isn’t Milwaukee’s only claim to architectural fame. Spend the afternoon exploring Frank Lloyd Wright’s Burnham Block, where six homes showcase Wright’s vision for beautiful, affordable housing.

Take the Trail Beyond Milwaukee

Head north to Mequon for dinner and drinks at Foxtown Brewing. Its restored historic brewery property includes two levels of lager caves dating back to the building’s early brewing days, connecting today’s craft beer scene with Wisconsin brewing history.

Visitors explore food vendors and shops inside the bustling Milwaukee Public Market beneath the large, illuminated St. Paul Fish Company sign shaped like a fish.

Day 3: Neighborhoods, Local Brewers and Milwaukee Flavor

Start With Creative Coffee

Milwaukee creativity isn’t limited to beer. Begin the day at Discourse Coffee, where inventive drinks turn a morning coffee stop into an experience of its own.

See Brew City From the Water

Get outside with a morning paddle on Milwaukee’s waterways with the Milwaukee Kayak Company before grabbing lunch at the Milwaukee Public Market.

Explore the Historic Third Ward

Spend some time wandering the Historic Third Ward, where former warehouses now house shops, galleries, restaurants and bars alongside the Milwaukee River. Be sure to grab an infamous Bloody Mary at the Milwaukee Public Market.

Meet the Brewers at Torzala

Stop at Torzala Brewing Co., a family-operated brewery that brings culture, history and local ingredients into its approach to craft beer.

Dinner and Drinks in Bay View

Stay in the neighborhood for dinner at Goodkind, a cozy corner tavern known for its locally inspired menu and cocktails. If you’re not ready to call it a night, keep exploring Bay View with drinks at The Mothership or Burnhearts.

Visitors enjoy drinks and outdoor seating along the Milwaukee River outside Lakefront Brewery, beneath the towering Holton Street Bridge on a sunny day.

Day 4: One More Round

Brunch at Eagle Park

Start your final day at Eagle Park Brewing & Distilling on Milwaukee’s Lower East Side. Housed in a Cream City brick building dating to 1920, the taproom serves house-made beer, spirits, cocktails and a full food menu all day long.

Finish at Lakefront Brewery

There may be no better way to close out a Brew City weekend than with a Lakefront Brewery tour. Founded by brothers Jim and Russ Klisch in 1987, Lakefront helped shape Milwaukee’s modern craft brewing story.

Take the tour, grab a pint and make sure to leave room for an order of the brewery’s famous cheese curds. If the weather cooperates, settle in along the riverfront and toast to a weekend well spent in Brew City.

Trail Bobo & Chichi to Explore Beer History in Milwaukee

If there's one thing Bobo & Chichi taught us, it's that Milwaukee’s brewing story isn’t confined to one brewery or one era. It stretches from the homes and historic campuses of Milwaukee’s beer barons to independent breweries, neighborhood taprooms, beer gardens and the people carrying Brew City forward today.
