Milwaukee Downtown, Business Improvement District (BID) #21, is an organization established in 1998 to support the interests of downtown Milwaukee. Created through private sector leadership, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 manages various programs to ensure a vibrant, safe, and walkable downtown for everyone. The organization oversees the management of 150 blocks representing approximately 500 property owners that comprise the central business district, including the Clean Sweep Ambassador program, the Public Service Ambassador program, the Graffiti Removal Team, and the Landscape Crew. In addition, the organization builds community through various partnerships, including Sculpture Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Theater District, and homeless outreach services. To drive visitation downtown, the organization hosts signature events, including the Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival, Downtown Dining Week, Downtown Employee Appreciation Week, and Taste & Toast, along with weekly programming of downtown's public parks and spaces.
