Good Things Brewing”, hosted by lifelong Milwaukeean David Caruso, has been nominated for a NATAS Chicago/Midwest Chapter Emmy. With its first season debuting in early 2023, “Good Things Brewing” tells the story of Milwaukee through the eyes of local residents who have made an impact on the community, with each episode pairing two Milwaukeeans who show viewers their favorite places to eat, stay and explore. 
 

“Good Things Brewing” is a 30-minute TV show is created by VISIT Milwaukee and produced by Plum Media.

In just its first season “Good Things Brewing” was selected as a 2023 Emmy nominee in the category of Best Magazine Single Program or Series. The NATAS Chicago/Midwest Chapter includes eight television markets including Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago. “Good Things Brewing” was one of four nominees in its category and the only from Milwaukee.  
 

“The people and places of our city are the stars of ‘Good Things Brewing’, and I’m honored to be a part of the great team that has created this Emmy-nominated show,” says host David Caruso.  
 

The first season of Good Things Brewing featured four episodes and aired throughout the Midwest including Milwaukee, all of Wisconsin, Minneapolis, Chicago and beyond. Businesses featured in the first season have since experienced increased demand that they credit due to the exposure from the show. Filming for the second season concluded this week; the season is set to debut in markets across the Midwest in early 2024.

VISIT Milwaukee led creative direction for the show with input from David Caruso and Plum Media. It was directed by Evan Watters and edited by Mikaia Jacobs. The first season of "Good Things Brewing," which aims to encourage viewers to visit Milwaukee, was sponsored by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. Winners of the 2023 Emmy Awards will be announced on November 11 at the Swissotel in Chicago.
