Milwaukee will soon welcome thousands of athletes, supporters, and spectators when the 2025 USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic National Championships and USA Paratriathlon National Championships return to the city August 8-10. To kick off a weekend of elite racing and community excitement, USA Triathlon and Sports Milwaukee, championed by Visit Milwaukee, will host a press conference on Wednesday, August 6 at 1 p.m. at Harbor House. Media are invited to attend.

The National Championships weekend includes the Olympic-Distance National Championships, Sprint National Championships, Paratriathlon National Championships, and a 750-meter Open Water Swim that is open to the public. For the first time, the Paratriathlon National Championships will be held in conjunction with the Sprint and Olympic Distance National Championships, bringing to Milwaukee some of paratriathlon’s biggest stars, including Paris 2024 Paralympic medalists Grace Norman, Hailey Danz, Chris Hammer, Carson Clough, Kendall Gretsch, Mark Barr, and Allysa Seely.

Approximately 15,000 attendees, including athletes and spectators, are expected across the three-day event, which is projected to generate an estimated $6.7 million in economic impact for the Greater Milwaukee area.

“After a brief stint away from Milwaukee, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome back the athletes, attendees, and organizers for the 2025 and 2026 USA Triathlon National Championships,” said Marissa Werner, director of Sports Milwaukee. “Not only does this event deliver a strong economic impact, but it also puts a spotlight on Milwaukee’s breathtaking natural surroundings. We’re especially grateful to our local partners – like Milwaukee County Parks, The Bartolotta Restaurants, and Discovery World – who help create an unforgettable race experience along Milwaukee’s stunning lakefront. Their collaboration is critical to making this event such a success.”

This year marks the seventh time Milwaukee has hosted the USA Triathlon National Championships, following successful runs from 2013-2015 and 2021-2023. Milwaukee has also been awarded the 2026 USA Triathlon National Championships, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a premier destination for endurance sports.

“Milwaukee has become one of the most iconic host cities in USA Triathlon’s history, offering a scenic and energetic race environment on the shores of Lake Michigan,” said Brian D’Amico, director of events for USA Triathlon. “We’re thrilled to return in 2025 and again in 2026, and we know our athletes and spectators are just as excited. The city’s commitment to creating a world-class experience for both participants and fans makes it a natural home for our marquee national event.”
