This one-day celebration features the diversity of every country that makes up the Caribbean and Latin America-Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican, Mexican, Jamaican and more. The Caribbean Festival showcases cultural entertainment, contests, music, exhibitors, vendors and more.

Puerto Rican Festival of Wisconsin

This annual cultural celebration highlights Puerto Rican heritage through music, dance, food, and community pride, drawing visitors from across the Midwest.

 

Cultural Experiences

 

The Milwaukee Art Museum houses one of the world's outstanding collections of 20th-century Haitian art, featuring 90 paintings and sculptures. The Richard and Erna Flagg Collection includes masterworks by significant Centre d'Art school artists such as Hector Hyppolite, Rigaud Benoit, Philomé Obin, and Georges Liautaud. This remarkable collection showcases Haiti's vibrant artistic heritage and cultural traditions.

Ko-Thi Dance Company preserves and performs traditional African Diaspora and Caribbean dance forms. This world-renowned Milwaukee institution trains artists in authentic techniques, mythology, and cultural origins while using traditional instruments and costumes. The company offers year-round classes, educational outreach through its signature "DrumTalk" program, and has impacted over a million children. Ko-Thi tours nationally and internationally, bridging cultural gaps through extraordinary dance and infectious music.

UbuntuMKE is Wisconsin's first cross-cultural food incubator, elevating underrepresented talents from the African diaspora—especially LGBTQ+ individuals, women, and refugees. They support African-led businesses and events while fostering connections between diverse communities through collaborative dinners and joint projects. By bridging cultural divides and linking local African communities with Wisconsin's broader networks, they drive equitable impact in food and beyond.
