The best part of waking up is Milwaukee in your cup. You’ll never be lacking for a local cup of joe while you’re here – Colectivo Coffee has been handmade in Milwaukee since 1993. Every single bean is still roasted by hand, blended, packaged, and shipped from the roastery in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Stop by during the work week to see it all happen, or grab a mug at one of more than a dozen area cafés. In addition to great coffee, you'll also enjoy freshly baked breads and pastries from Troubadour Bakery, located inside the Bay View cafe.
Just a few years younger is Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company, a micro roaster and café founded in 1999. Get a mug of their coffee at the original Bay View café (also home to an impressive wood-fired pizza oven), or stop by the café in Walker’s Point to enjoy coffee, craft beer, and wine, as well as live music on weekends. The Walker’s Point roastery is a certified organic roasting facility and café.
One of the nation's top importers and manufacturers of organic tea, Rishi Tea, is also based here in Milwaukee. You'll find Rishi Tea available at many local cafes, and it seems like this company's hometown has made an impression on them: you can now find Rishi Craft Brew, two varieties of sparkling tea, on tap at the Explorium Brewpub.
Need more of a buzz? Quench your caffeine craving with one of Milwaukee's other local roasters, like Stone Creek Coffee, Hawthorne Coffee Roasters, Valentine Coffee, Wonderstate Coffee, or Pilcrow Coffee Roasters (named the nation's best cold brew).
