It’s a special, in fact, a historic, time for Milwaukee.
A lot’s happened since our last newsletter, including history in the making. The Brewers not only advanced in the playoffs, but last night clinched the team’s first-ever World Series championship, winning the series 4-1 over the Tampa Bay Rays. What a season. What a team. What a moment for Milwaukee. And what a time to catch you up on everything happening in our city.
This one doesn’t have to go to extra innings. Here are five things to know about Milwaukee in five minutes or less. Play Ball!
Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series
WORLD CHAMPIONS! How does that sound? After winning 103 games in the regular season, the Milwaukee Brewers stole the hearts and minds of baseball-loving fans everywhere this postseason with their exciting brand of small ball and lockdown bullpen, as they advanced through the NLDS against the Padres, the NLCS against the Dodgers and into the World Series against the Rays.
There is something magical about this team, bringing home the city’s first pennant in 44 years and its first-ever World Series championship, but what’s just as amazing are the fans and communities that have come together to celebrate it. Watch parties throughout the city filled up, the Deer District was once again packed with fans hungry for another championship, and for Games 3, 4 and 5, American Family Field was filled with 31,000+ fans to cheer them on and watch the action on the big screen, 1,000 miles away.
