Everyone loves a sure bet, a lock, an odds-on favorite. Like a shooting star or a total solar eclipse, these moments are irreplicable and must be seized to their absolute fullest. And, in light of a packed Labor Day weekend – which includes the Hy-Vee Milwaukee Mile 250s, Women’s College Volleyball Showcase, Red Bull Wake the City, Laborfest and countless other events around town – allow us to recommend Potawatomi Casino | Hotel’s final Amplified Concert Series performance of the year, Third Eye Blind, as a guaranteed good time to cap off your summer in the city. Here’s everything you need to know before you go to Milwaukee’s newest outdoor event venue.
Potawatomi’s Outdoor Stage
Opened earlier this year, this expansive outdoor venue has all the makings of a dream concert experience. Located in the Menomonee Valley, adjacent to Potawatomi Casino | Hotel and just five minutes from downtown Milwaukee, the venue offers 50,000 to 200,000 sq. ft. of space for up to 5,000 concert attendees, creating an intimate concert atmosphere without feeling crowded. Away from the stage, local food trucks serve a wide range of dining offerings, with ample picnic seating under the warm ambiance of string lights just a few steps away. The best part? Free parking in the casino’s parking structure and on-site accommodations should you choose to stay over.
Potawatomi Amplified Concert Series
The monthly music series launched its inaugural campaign in June with a performance by Olympic all-star and award-winning rapper Snoop Dogg, officially christening the new venue.
Then, amplified by the success of its first concert, the series welcomed a two-day festival in July, Tejano Fest, featuring headliners Ramon Ayala and Duelo, Bobby Pulido and Selena Dreaming of You Tribute. The event was hosted by actor Edward James Olmos and Jennifer Lopez tribute artist Connie P.
Moving into August, Third Eye Blind will fittingly be the third in the summer concert series. It will also be the last of the Potawatomi Amplified Concert Series in 2024.
Next Up: Third Eye Blind
Alt-rock outfit Third Eye Blind is no stranger to Milwaukee. In fact, the band last played Summerfest in 2022, with performances at the world’s largest music festival in 2017-19 and 2014-15. But the allure of classic hits like “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper,” “Never Let You Go,” and countless other hits throughout the group’s nearly 30-year career have aged like a fine wine, making for a flawless concert experience nearly every time. A night under the stars, on one of the last summer weekends of the year, with a preeminent band of the late 90’s and early 00’s? There’s simply no better way to spend a night of your Labor Day weekend.
