Lifelong Milwaukeean David Caruso knows a thing or two about the city’s most popular haunts and hidden gems. After a year of uncovering why the Cream City holds a special place in the hearts of some of Milwaukee’s most fascinating residents, the spotlight now swivels to David to share what makes Milwaukee special.

What do you love about Milwaukee?
I love that Milwaukee is always looking for new ways to celebrate our diversity, culture and talent. It's a place where people can realize their dreams and create a lifestyle that's rich in friends, activities, work and prosperity.

What's a hidden gem that you think visitors should explore?
Milwaukee has outstanding museums worth exploring, including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum, Discovery World, Harley-Davidson Museum and America’s Black Holocaust Museum. Our city is also home to the wacky National Bobblehead Hall of Fame & Museum

What are your must-dos for a first-time visitor?
I always encourage visitors to see a performance at one of our outstanding theaters, walk or bike along the lakefront, spend an afternoon enjoying Sculpture Milwaukee on Wisconsin Avenue, attend a fun sporting event at American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers or Fiserv Forum, home of the Milwaukee Bucks. Finally, the Historic Third Ward is a must-stop destination – especially during Gallery Nights!
