Haunted Tales of the Milwaukee Theater District

Step beyond the velvet curtain and into the shadowy side of Milwaukee's historic theaters with Haunted Tales of the Milwaukee Theater District. This 1.5-hour tour takes you inside three landmark stages where the past hasn't quite taken its final bow. You'll hear chilling accounts of phantom footsteps, unexplained occurrences, and lingering spirits, then use divining rods to explore the paranormal energy yourself. Boo at the Zoo 

Oct. 17-19, 24-26 | Milwaukee County Zoo 

Boo at the Zoo transforms the Milwaukee County Zoo into a Halloween wonderland with two weekends of not-so-scary fun for the whole family. Follow the Trick-or-Treat Trail through Adventure Africa, catch dazzling light shows and explore themed spots like Pumpkin Park and Haunted Hollow. Your little monsters can meet animals in indoor habitats, take part in eerie science experiments, and wander through a maze made of hay, while stilt walkers and hundreds of glowing pumpkins add a little extra magic. Don’t forget to bring a treat bag! The sweets are waiting. 

 

Trunk or Treat 

Oct. 18 | 12121 W. North Ave.  

Trunk or Treat in Wauwatosa turns a quiet parking lot into a festive Halloween lane, where you and your family stroll from trunk to trunk collecting sweets under the glow of October twilight. Kids are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and trunk-or-treat at decorated vehicles packed with treats, while music fills the air and face painting adds a splash of festive flair. With food trucks and a community-driven spirit behind it, this event brings neighbors together for an event that’s a real treat, no tricks. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to bring food donations in support of Tosa Cares.

Dia de los Muertos Festival & 5K 

Oct. 25 | Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum 

The Día de los Muertos Festival & 5K honors life and memory in a setting rich with history and quiet mystery. The day begins with a run winding through the cemetery’s shaded paths before the festival opens with music, dancing, food trucks, face painting and altars crafted in the chapel. As twilight falls, candlelight tours is offering haunting stories that bring Milwaukee’s past to life among the gravestones, blending tradition with a subtle, spooky atmosphere. 

 

Halloween Cover Show 

Oct. 31 | Cactus Club 

The Halloween Cover Show at Cactus Club turns up the volume with a night of loud, raw energy in support of a good cause. This Hunger Task Force benefit brings together heavy-hitting local acts like Garden Home, Nightmare Unit, and At The Bottom Of The Great Lakes, with a lineup that leans hard into hardcore and punk. Costumes encouraged, earplugs recommended. This is Halloween enchantment turned to 11, and a screaming good time. 

 
Adult Halloween Comedy & Magic at the Haunted Brumder Mansion 

Oct. 31- Nov. 1 | Brumder Mansion 

Adult Halloween Comedy & Magic at the Haunted Brumder Mansion is a night of sharp humor and eerie thrills. Catch The Brothers, nominated Best Magicians two years in a row, alongside Psychic Kevin Sklander and Magician Serena Stone. Explore the mansion’s secret tunnels once used by Al Capone’s gangsters while enjoying bone-chilling ghost hunting and psychic readings that add a little sorcery to the mix. This event is your chance to experience comedy and the paranormal together.
