Filming in Milwaukee

Lights, camera, action! Milwaukee is ready for its close-up, and with recent tax incentives from Film Wisconsin and the infrastructure of MKE Film, there’s never been a better time to choose Milwaukee as the place to set up your next production. Here, you’ll find all four seasons, three rivers, tons of parks and beaches and one Great Lake, alongside filming locations that add unique cinematographic value like the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Pabst Theater and 19 neighborhoods ready for the spotlight. Here’s everything you need to know about filming in Milwaukee.

As Seen on TV

Milwaukee isn’t camera shy. With Bravo shows like “Top Chef: Wisconsin” and “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” among others, shining a light on just some of what our city has to offer, the bold, fresh flavors of Milwaukee show up beautifully on screen. But beyond locations, we’re a city built by our people. In recent years, Visit Milwaukee has produced regional Emmy-recognized, locally driven storytelling TV programs that share more about the places, spaces and people that make Milwaukee special.

Film Locations

Every production needs a film location that adds depth, context, connection, texture and inspiration. No matter what your project has in store, there’s a venue for you and your crew. Need a stadium shot? Which one? How about a historic mansion? We know a few. You dream up the setting; Milwaukee’s venues will take care of the rest.

Production Resources

When you choose Milwaukee as a production site, you’re getting a city that already has the infrastructure, incentives and know-how to make sure your project is a success. Launched in February 2026, Film Wisconsin is a resource hub that oversees $5 million in annual tax credits. Meanwhile, MKE Film hosts one of the biggest film festivals in the country while providing support to local filmmakers. Find more information below.
