St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and preparations are already underway to celebrate this Irish holiday right here in Milwaukee. All month long, you can follow the rainbow to a pot of gold…or a good time, served with a pint of green beer anyway. If you’re looking for things to do this year, well, you’re in luck! Here’s a four-leaf clover of fun things to do for all ages this St. Paddy’s Day. Slainte!

Shamrock Shuffle

Shamrock Shuffle

March 7 | Various Areas

Kicking things off a week early, this event is an annual tradition that takes over the whole city. Taking place across four neighborhoods across Milwaukee, keep an eye out for a sea of green t-shirts taking over Water Street, Brady Street, Third Street (MLK) and Walker’s Point as these jolly green bar hoppers shuffle from one pub to the next for some pre-St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans. And it’s all for a good cause! Celebrating its unofficial 15th anniversary this year, a portion of the proceeds from the Shamrock Shuffle benefits local charities. Learn more here!

Pabst Theater Concert Stage

Gaelic Storm: Roll Out The Barrel Tour

March 9 | Pabst Theater

Is it even St. Patrick’s Day if you don’t hear the raucous tunes of Gaelic Storm? Well, this year, you have the chance to experience a very special Irish celebration as this Celtic colossus takes the stage of The Pabst Theater. Sure, it’s a few days before the big day, but the spirit of St. Pat’s Day lives on 365 days a year. Captivating fans for over two decades, Gaelic Storm and their rich storytelling and tantalizing instrumentals always put on an unforgettable show. Are you ready to rock?

St. Patrick's Day Parade

58th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 14 | Downtown

Then there’s the classic: the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Started back in 1968, this annual tradition is a local staple, as over 100 different floats, marching bands, bagpipers and even Irish wolfhounds take to the streets in this annual celebration of Celtic culture in Milwaukee. The parade kicks off at noon on Saturday, March 15, but with a kickoff party at Lucky Clover on Friday night and an all-ages post-parade party at the Irish Heritage & Cultural Center featuring three rooms of live music and entertainment from 2-6 p.m., you can keep the St. Patrick’s Day celebration rolling all weekend long. Check out the route and plan your parade experience today!

Deer District Irish Celebration

March 14-17 | Deer District

Follow the rainbow to Deer District for a St. Paddy's palooza so huge it lasts four days. The Deer District Irish Celebration kicks off as soon as the parade wraps on Saturday and keeps the fun (and green pints) flowing through St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday. Boasting an enormous slate of Irish-themed sips and bites from five of the district's bars and restaurants, you can find deals on tasty corned beef sandwiches, creamy Guinness pints and shots of Jameson while enjoying a nightly rotation of live entertainment spanning bagpipes to DJs to Irish dance troupes. If you're looking for St. Patrick's Day plans this week, you're in luck!
