On August 28-30, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses is hosting its 2026 International Convention, bringing more than 23,000 attendees from around the globe to Milwaukee, including more than 5,000 attendees representing 20 countries. The convention will have a massive impact on the destination, generating over 30,000 hotel room nights across more than 25 hotels.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will pack downtown Milwaukee, filling Baird Center and exploring the very best of what our city has to offer at restaurants and attractions all over the city.
As part of the 2026 International Convention, the following roads will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. now through Sunday, August 30:
- West Kilbourn Avenue from North 6th Street to North Phillips Avenue.
- Eastbound West Wells Street from North 6th Street to North Phillips Avenue.
