About the Brew City Trail

Milwaukee is a city built by beer. It's the true Brew City that, at its peak, was the brewing capital of the world, and for generations, has brought barrels and kegs and glasses of liquid gold to thirsty mouths across the country and around the world thanks to brewing behemoths like Miller, Pabst, Schlitz and Blatz. Today, that history lives on in our landmarks, the names of our sports teams and our culture, but it also lives on in our pint glasses. Join the funniest brewery tour you’ve ever seen. Relax and unwind with a stein in the parklike setting of a beer garden. Wander the historic home of a beer baron. The possibilities are endless, the beers are cold and good times are brewing. Cheers!

I Don’t Drink Beer. Why Should I Do the Brew City Trail? 

Beer is a local staple, but it means so much more in Milwaukee, and you don’t need to drink a single drop to appreciate its impact on our city. Throughout the past century, the success of breweries like Miller, Schlitz, Pabst and Blatz has helped build ornate landmarks like the Pabst Theater, Pabst Mansion, Brewhouse Inn & Suites in the Brewery District and The Cooperage at Boone & Crockett. Beyond sightseeing, there’s also plenty to sip and savor. Sprecher is a brewery that’s known more for its craft root beer than its alcoholic counterpart. So, no matter whether you appreciate ornate Flemish Renaissance Revival-style architecture, a night out at the theater or one of the best root beers you’ve ever tasted, there’s a 0 ABV way to explore the Brew City.
